Dear Friend,

Thank you for your ongoing support. May is a month of celebration. We recognize Mother's Day, Cinco de Mayo, Memorial Day, Brain Tumor Awareness Month and birthdays.

In celebration of my birthday and in recognition of Brain Tumor Awareness Month this May join us by watching VISIONS Contemporary Ballet presents Humility and Faith in a live performance video recording on YouTube On-Demand, May 1 - 31, 2024, and make a donation to support our mission.

May is my birthday month, and I was diagnosed with brain cancer in November 2014. Now a 9-year brain cancer survivor, I continue to choreograph inspirational dance about the human experience. Please make a donation in the amount of your choice and watch the company in performance.

Your contribution will help raise funds to support our upcoming New York 2024 season. VISIONS Contemporary Ballet presents For Love's Sake, featuring the premiere of House is Home, a ballet expressing thoughts and feelings of how home is where the heart is, which explores the idea of being joyful in the pursuit of love and happiness. Heart is Home is dedicated to my Mom and all of the mothers who have instilled love and a sense of home in their children, even though they may have often been far apart in the world. For Love's Sake will be presented November 15 -17, 2024 at The Riverside Theater.

Watch Humility and Faith; your donation supports our mission!

VISIONS Contemporary Ballet, based in Harlem NYC, performs three thought-provoking works in Humility and Faith, conveying messages greater than the artist, featuring the premiere of Backbone, presented live on November 17 – 19, 2023 at The Riverside Theater, 91 Claremont Ave., New York, NY 10027.

Backbone is inspired by a Black artist’s heartfelt journey, integrity and loving deeply, with music by Vir-Amicus and Queen Esther. “There are no words to describe the journey, the sweat, the blood, the war that is being a black artist.” - Viola Davis. Also being performed are Tainted Bla’k, a celebration of the beauty of being Black, set to music that is inspirational, positive and has powerful messages of Blackness composed by artists of the African Diaspora, and Roots, rooted in prayer and tradition, about self-growth, a signature work that is spiritually uplifting and an audience favorite.
